Chavvy

Spaces

Chavvy makes music in transit. Between home and the city, between the conscious and the subconscious, between the gritty low-end of a Roland SP-404 and the lush experimental synths that sit above it. SPACES, his debut LP released via Spanish label Antic Mass, was conceived in that in-between state. The mind on the move. The record as document of that drift.

Moiré Archive built the visual world for the release: album artwork, music video direction, and logo design for a British multi-instrumentalist whose sound sits at the intersection of LA beat culture and European electronic music.

The Visual Language

TThe Roland SP-404 is a specific instrument with a specific character: gritty, warm, tactile. Hardware that leaves its fingerprint on the sound. That texture became the entry point into the visual language: lo-fi collage, experimental overlays, childhood memory fragments layered over urban motion. City lights in transit. The abstract made concrete through the specific.

The album artwork was designed to feel like a sonic field rather than a cover: abstract forms that invite the listener into Chavvy's internal world before a single note plays. The music video series extended that language through visualisers built on the same collage logic. The sampled nature of the music made visible.
