The Film

The reference point was Wonderwall, the 1968 psychedelic film: its dreamlike relationship between space, object, and time. The goal was not a store tour. It was a portal.

The story moves between two worlds: the boutique and the Okamoto brothers' classic Mercedes-Benz. The car as metaphor. Purveyors of future-treasures, always in motion, carrying the past with them into the city.

The edit was treated as a digital collage. Scenes blended and reversed, the 1970s Italian chandeliers and antique mirrors sensualized through psychic montage. The film moves the way memory moves: not linearly, but associatively.

WASEI recorded the score live. Improvised, drawn from Blue Note-era jazz, performed as an aural chant in a single session. The music was not composed to the image. It was composed alongside it, the same improvisational logic as the edit.
